Panattoni expands Pilkington Automotive Poland plant in Chmielów (PL)

Panattoni Europe, industrial space leader, has commenced works to add approx. 21,000 m² to one of the production halls for Pilkington Automotive Poland. The space will be added onto the already existing 35,000 m², built by the developer in 2012. With the new space, the factory in Chmielów, at Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone EURO-PARK WISŁOSAN, will total approx. 90,000 m², achieving increased production capacity and making room for new jobs.
Panattoni Europe has embarked on a new mission to extend the automotive glass factory for Pilkington Automotive Poland in Chmielów. This is stage two of the manufacturer's action plan for 2011-2015, which involves the present construction of an additional warehouse and production hall totalling more than 21,000 m².. The developer is planning to complete the extension works next September.
Works that are currently under way in stage two aim to increase the available space of the factory from 60,000 to approx. 90,000 m², which will allow the company to boost its production capacity by 50%, and create new jobs - as many as 300 new people will be able to find employment. For Panattoni Europe, this project is more than an extension of an existing space. Comments Robert Dobrzycki, Managing Partner Panattoni Europe: "While working on this investment, of great importance not just for the region, but also for Poland's economy, we have been able to show some of our other competences. The construction went on in quite unusual circumstances, while the plant was in full operation." It is worth adding that the investment found recognition not only in the industry, in 2011 it was named the largest and received an award from the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency PAIiIZ.
Panattoni Europe is currently developing 250,000 m² of new warehouse space across Poland. The recent conclusion of 2014 confirmed the company's market leader status in the industrial real estate sector. Panattoni Europe delivered more new industrial space to the domestic market than any other developer - 462,000 m², also leading the net take-up ranking of facility owners in Poland with 23% and can boast the highest volume of transactions concluded in the CEE region - 653,000 m², of which 75% was in new leases. Panattoni Europe also won as many as 10 industry awards last year, including three Developer of the Year titles in its category.
