Hungate (York) Regeneration Ltd, a joint venture partnership by Land Securities Group PLC, Crosby Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd., and Evans Property Group announce that the York City council planning committee has granted approval for the Hungate regeneration project.
A spokesman for the joint venture partnership said: "We are delighted with the committee's decision. This is an exciting mixed-use regeneration scheme that will breathe new life into a run-down area of York and see the creation of an urban neighbourhood that will provide new homes, new work spaces, community facilities and public open spaces within the city walls, while also being a major focus of archaeological investigation and discovery.
"It is a development that has evolved through a detailed programme of community planning headed by John Thompson & Partners and we are grateful to the many York people and organisations that supported us throughout the process. We hope that we can quickly move to detailed plans for the development and make a start on site next spring."
