Outlet centers left untouched by economic slowdown

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) reports that designer outlet centers in the USA and across Europe are bucking the retail trend. In the US, outlet centers have reported increased sales for the first three months of the year, as opposed to the traditional US shopping centers where a decrease in retailer sales has been noted.

And according to Brendon O'Reilly, Development Director at property consultants GVA Grimley, this upward trend for designer outlet centers is continuing in many parts of Europe where retailer demand for space is currently outstripping supply.
