Omniyat Properties to launch AED 500m The Pad at the Dubai International Property Show (UAE)

Omniyat Properties, the real estate development arm of Omniyat Holdings, will launch the world's first Cybertecture apartment tower and the region's most technologically advanced building 'The Pad' at the 3rd International Property Show to be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre on April 3-5, 2007.

The pioneering developer will also give visitors a sneak preview of their upcoming project, an architectural master-piece designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid. The unique project, which will be one of the most iconic and sought after addresses in the world, is to be revealed at the British Museum in the UK capital, London later the same month.

'The Pad', considered the first cybertecture apartment building in the world, was first revealed during the Cityscape Dubai 2006 and generated huge interest and excitement from around the world. The futuristic tower was designed by James Law, James Law Cybertecture International, a global consultancy based in Hong Kong and specializing in the design and strategy formation of Cybertecture Projects.

Cybertecture incorporates the latest technology to give the space the intelligence needed to react, interact and communicate with its users. Structures that incorporate Cybertecture within their design aim to enhance and improve quality of life by harnessing the power of technology.

"In commissioning James Law we wanted to create something for the future, a timeless, interactive, intelligent building that pushes the boundaries of architectural design and revolutionizes the way people interact with their surroundings. The Pad is a signature property that reflects the company's philosophy and vision of creating the most distinct, innovative and technologically advanced properties in the region," said Mehdi Amjad, President & CEO of Omniyat Properties.

Claiming a strategic waterfront location the AED 500 million (approx. €88 mln) residential tower is being built on the extension of Dubai's historic Creek in the Business Bay Development, which is accessible from the Sheikh Zayed Road between the first and second interchange with direct access to the largest shopping mall in the world, Dubai Mall. It is set for completion in the 4th quarter of 2009.

The innovatively designed 24-story residential tower will contain 231 intelligent apartments varying in sizes - ranging from studio to 1- & 2-bedroom apartments and varying sizes and types of lofts. Every Pad apartment will be intelligent and has its own Cybertecture that covers everything from communications, entertainment to shopping.

All apartments in The Pad, and the building itself, will integrate a plethora of technological features that will expand the boundaries of the home and make the entire building a reactive living space.

Technologies such as real-time projection feeds (iReality) where you can change your outside view by for example projecting the beauty of the Caribbean or view of the New York sky line onto your living windows; a feature that can transport you to any part of the world at a click of a button.

Bathrooms fitted with health monitoring equipment (iHealth), equipment that can measure and monitor your temperature, weight and blood pressure allowing for a healthy lifestyle and an ease of mind.

Devices provided to The Pad residence that can be given to family and friends that allow you to have dinner with loved ones from across the globe via a video conferencing link projected into your dinning room (iFamily & Friends).Rotating living and dinning rooms (iRotation) giving you 360 Degree views of Dubai and the Business Bay, reactive lighting that respond to incoming phone calls and the residents' mood (iAmbience) giving your home the individual touch that reflects your personality.
