Ocado signs up for 6.317 m² at SEGRO’s flagship development (UK)

Ocado, the world’s largest online supermarket, will be joining department store John Lewis and Mash Purveyors, distributors of quality fruit and vegetables to London’s hotels and restaurants, on SEGRO’s West London flagship development, Origin, Park Royal.
The online supermarket will move into a brand new speculatively built 68,393 ft² (6.317 m²) unit, on a 15 year lease, from which it will distribute groceries to its customers in London.
As a result, 99,560 ft² (9.197 m²) will be built speculatively in two units. As part of this second phase of development at Origin, John Lewis has already has signed a 25 year lease for 108,000 ft² (10.033 m²) of Grade A space which, subject to planning, will be built to suit their needs. Construction will begin in Spring 2015.
Origin is SEGRO’s latest edge-of-town urban distribution and light industrial development. Located only eight miles from the center of London, its proximity to the A40 means it is a strategic base from which retailers, such as Ocado and John Lewis, and urban distribution and logistics companies can deliver their products and services.
