NVM: still shortage industrial estates, both in terms of quantity and quality

There still is a shortage in industrial estates in the Netherlands´ largest cities. Although office parks are ample, industrial estates are very short in supply. The demand after diversified use of space for other functions, such as housing and leisure, limits the issue of industrial ocations.

Mid-term and long-term demand after industrial estates will remain high. Regional cooperation, moderate land pricing policies, more simplified zoning plan procedures and accellerating the realization of developments under study are tools which municipalities may implement to fight the shortage.

These are some of the conclusions in a recent study, Quickscan Bedrijfsterreinen 2002, of the NVM (Dutch Real Estate Brokers Association).
