Niam sells 72.5% of Sektor Gruppen, the second largest shopping center company in Norway (NO)

Niam, a leading Nordic real estate private equity firm, signed an agreement with an investor group in Norway to sell a 72.5% share of Sektor Gruppen. The investor group consists of Joh. Johannson AS (31% share), Varner Invest AS (27% share) and Home Invest AS (14.5% share).

Sektor Gruppen is the second largest shopping center company in Norway with NOK 15.7 billion (approx. €2.15 billion) in annual turnover through its 26 owned, leased and managed shopping centers.

"Niam has worked actively together with the highly skilled retail property management team within Sektor to continue building it into one of the leading shopping center companies in Norway. We are also pleased to become partners with a financially strong investor group with a proven track record in Norwegian retail," says Johan Bergman, CEO of Niam.

During the two and a half years that Niam has owned the company, the turnover has grown by 40%, as a result of expansions, acquisitions, and new centers under management. Niam will own 27.5% of the company going forward.

The transaction value of the company was in excess of NOK 7 billion (approx. €959 million).
