Newsec advises SAS on divestment of six buildings for SEK 1,775 million (SE)

Newsec has acted as transaction advisor to SAS in a transaction in which six separate buildings were divested to Swedavia Real Estate for a purchase consideration of SEK 1,775 million (nearly €200 million).

The buildings represent most of SAS's property portfolio in Sweden and are located by Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Malmö Airport. The lettable floor space in the buildings totals about 152,000 m².

"Swedavia's acquisition of the buildings concerned indicates a major need and demand for airport-related buildings and infrastructure as the air-travel sector grows," says Olle Håkansson, Project Manager at Newsec.

The buildings concerned are Sverigehuset, Flight Academy and Tekniska Basen at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the Spirit Cargo terminal and a hangar at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and a hangar at Malmö Airport. Occupancy will take place on July 1, 2012.

"Naturally, contributing to transactions of this nature is encouraging and serves as further evidence that Newsec's focus on infrastructure-related projects is bearing fruit," says Bert-Ove Johansson, President, Newsec Sweden.
