At the Zuidas district in the city of Amsterdam there have been several new transactions in the last few months. Office building Viñoly welcomed three new tenants: Squarewise, Chordiant Software International and Google. Michael Page has signed a 5-year lease in the World Trade Center. In Amsterdam Symphony, Golden Tulip Hospitality is building her first Royal Tulip Hotel. Optiver has signed a lease for 6,500 m² of office space in the Atrium building.
Squarewise and Chordiant Software International have signed leases for 320 m² and 650 m² respectively in office building Viñoly, part of the Mahler4 complex. Squarewise specializes in market-driven knowledge management. Chordiant Software International is a UK-based organization, supplying software solutions for companies worldwide in the business-to-consumer market. Google has signed a lease for 1,068 m² of office space. Google is known as the world's largest search engine. The office in Amsterdam is to be used as sales office.
Michael Page signed a lease for approximately 810 m² in the Podium Kantoren and Tower A in the World Trade Center, on top of the 1,306 m² already signed for. Michael Page International is a UK-based organization, being one of the world's leading specialist recruitment consultancies.
Amsterdam Symphony is currently under construction. The multifunctional project is going to include an apartment building, an office tower, a hotel and a parking facility. Golden Tulip Hospitality B.V. has started building its first Royal Tulip Hotel, comprising 13,000 m². The luxury hotel will have 210 guest rooms, targeting business travellers. The hotel will be opened in 2009.
In the Atrium office building, Optiver has signed a 10-year lease for 6,500 m² as from 1 January 2007. Optiver was founded in Amsterdam and has offices in Amsterdam, Sydney and Chicago. It is active in a broad range of arbitrage activities. Around 160 people are based in the Amsterdam office.
