New firm Dentons to challenge status quo in legal services (EU/US)

This week marked the public launch of Dentons, a new global law firm established to provide its clients with the competitive edge required by an increasingly complex and interconnected marketplace.

Formed by the combination of international law firm Salans LLP, Canadian law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC) and international law firm SNR Denton, Dentons is driven to challenge the status quo in legal services by delivering consistent and uncompromising quality and value to its clients in new and innovative ways. The firm distinguishes itself through the following:

Dentons is polycentric: It has no single headquarters and no dominant national culture. The firm provides clients with legal talent from diverse backgrounds and countries and with deep experience in every type of law including civil law, English common law, US common law, Sharia law and Chinese legal and regulatory issues. The polycentric model supports clients as they adapt to the shifting dynamics of the global marketplace in their own sectors.

Dentons offers business solutions to clients: The new firm is oriented towards specific advice that gets a deal done or a dispute resolved, rather than offering theoretical analysis or unstructured options.

Dentons will measure success by the service it provides: Whatever the scale or scope of the client’s business needs, Dentons will provide the attention its clients need and deserve.
With more than 2,500 lawyers and professionals in 79 locations in 52 countries across Africa, Asia Pacific, Canada, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Russia and the CIS, the UK and the US, Dentons brings together top tier talent found at the intersection of geography, industry knowledge and substantive legal expertise. A dynamic and personalized tool on the firm’s new website (dentons.com) illustrates how Dentons works to assemble a team of lawyers and professionals, customized to the needs of each client, drawing from knowledge of 24 sectors and expertise in 36 practices.

Dentons plans to challenge the most elite and established global law firms, connecting clients to more lawyers and services in more places, in a way that reflects the changing practice of law worldwide.

The combined firm is the seventh-largest law firm in the world. Moreover, the combined firm--Dentons, will result in the world’s largest fully integrated global real estate platform.
