The Board of The British Land Company PLC is pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Hester, who was appointed Chief Executive of the Company in July, is taking up his new appointment with effect from Friday, 12th November 2004. At this time the roles of Chief Executive and Chairman are split, with Mr. John Ritblat remaining as Chairman of the Board.
