NEINVER and MAB plan to open an outlet center in The Netherlands (NL)

MAB Development and NEINVER are together responsible for developing and operating the new outlet center in Amsterdam metropolitan region under the 'The Style outlets' brand.

In December 2009, the municipality of Haarlemmerliede adopted the zoning plan, which allows multi-use complex on the site while preserving its industrial heritage. The total space includes an outlet center, a supermarket, a hotel, entertainment areas and offices.

With the redevelopment, Sugar City, the former factory site, will harbor this new shopping experience, located between Amsterdam, Haarlem and Schiphol. With a total floor area of 18,000 m² and 1,270 parking spaces in its first phase this outlet center will offer more than one hundred shops of well-known national and international brands from the higher-end segments, food court and other services. Works are due to start in 2014. The center is expected to open its doors in Q4 2015.

The design fits in with the existing industrial heritage of the former sugar factory, giving it a strong character. The outlet center can be easily reached from the A200 via the N200, and the Amsterdam - Haarlem train will have a stop directly in front of the outlet center.

The outlet concept offers name-brand products from previous seasons, but with guaranteed quality, at discounts starting at 30%.

The Style Outlets is an outlet brand but also a strategy with greater international breadth from NEINVER, aimed at optimizing the shopping experience at the center for consumers. Shopping in a dynamic and comfortable space, always ready to bring together the most interesting brands and trends in fashion, design and the leisure sector in general. The brand The Style Outlets means improved efficiency for the outlet center's organization, but also aims to meet the needs and expectations of its visitors, the whole year round.

The Style Outlets centers are characterized by their flexible architecture. Each center is conceived based on individual criteria that make it unique, but always within exacting standards of quality and respect for the environment in terms of energy optimization and harmony with their surroundings. They all have been projected under environmentally sustainable architecture design to optimize energy resources.

The Style Outlets centers are also characterized by easy access, convenient ample parking, attractive facades, open spaces for all types of visitors, services, common areas for relaxation, green spaces, decor that incorporates artistic elements.

Mayor Bruijn of Haarlemmerliede en Spaarnwoude: 'The Style Outlets will be an important stimulus for the local economy as a tourist attraction. But the creation of more than 600 direct jobs is of particularly great added value for our municipality'.

'This project will be a substantial driver of local economic and tourist development', quotes Jan Eijkemans, Managing Director of MAB Development.

Bárbara Topolska, Chief Operations Officer of NEINVER, add to this that 'the excellent location and accessibility of the center make it possible for the entire Randstad conurbation to become acquainted with this unique outlet shopping experience to Netherlands clients.'

MAB Development and NEINVER established a joint venture (JV) in 2010 for the development of Factory Outlet centers in France, The Netherlands and Germany.

The combination of NEINVER's knowledge of asset management, concept design and leasing in outlet centers as one of the leaders in the European outlet market and MAB's expertise in project development as one of the leading developers in Europe guarantees a fruitful collaboration. The JV has the aim to develop about 135,000 m² of retail space and invest approximately €350 million over an investment period of five years.
