NCC to build €29.6m Uppsala resi project (SE)

NCC is joining forces with Uppsalahem AB and Uppsala Parkerings AB for the construction of the Dansmästaren project in the Rosendal district of Uppsala, Sweden. The project will include 133 rental apartments and a parking facility. The order value is €29.6m (SEK 290m).

“Uppsala is expanding at a rapid rate and there is still substantial demand for rental units. With NCC as a partner, we will be able to add a number of much-needed rental units in a new city district,” says Niosha Baghaei, Construction Manager, Uppsalahem AB.

The development is situated in a strategically important location, in a close proximity to the university campus area, and enjoys strong transport links.

“It is exciting to now start work on the project in Rosendal, which is also our first partnership. It is entirely aligned with our owner directives of adding new parking facilities in prime strategic locations throughout the city,” says Gustav Törnquist, Construction and Property Manager, Uppsala Parkerings AB.

Dansmästaren will consist of a six-story building with 133 rental apartments ranging from studio to one-bedroom apartments and adapted for student living. The apartments will be built to meet a Silver environmental rating from the Sweden Green Building Council.

The parking facility will cover an area of nearly 14,500 m² and feature about 460 parking spaces, of which 100 will be equipped with charge points for electric cars. The ground floor will house a large 2,200-m² commercial unit.

“This is a challenging and exciting project. Our partnership with Uppsalahem and Uppsala Parkerings AB is based on close dialogue between all of the parties involved throughout the duration of the project, which guarantees the implementation process and ensures a high-quality end-product,” says Henrik Landelius, Head of NCC Building Sweden.

The construction work is expected to commence in February with occupancy scheduled for summer 2020.
