NCC commences construction of Torsplan in the new Hagastaden city district in Stockholm (SE)

On Tuesday, October 11, NCC will commence construction of the Torsplan project on a proprietary basis. The project is situated in the new Hagastaden city district in Stockholm.

The property will comprise a total of 30,000 m² of leasable office and retail space. The cost of the construction contract will be registered among orders in the third quarter of 2011.

Torsplan will be the first property at Norra Station in the new Hagastaden city district and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2013.

Some 70% of the retail space has been leased to clients including PrisXtra, Systembolaget and the pharmacy chain DocMorris. Negotiations are under way with a number of tenants to fill the office space. A total of 16% has been leased.

Torsplan will be a GreenBuilding property and will also be environmentally certified in line with the BREEAM international rating system at the 'Excellent' level.

"The building will feature several solutions for sustainable urban construction, including a refuse vacuum pipe for the retail area and offices, and individual measurement and invoicing of office energy, with actual consumption clearly visualized," says Joachim Hallengren, Business Area President of NCC Property Development.

"To optimize the low climate impact, the entire construction process is planned in 5D technology and we will pursue the green construction concept on the building site."

5D technology involves the addition of the time and finance/budget aspects in the 3D technology models.
