NAS Invest plans to invest €100 million in Berlin and Northern Germany (DE)

Nikolai Dëus-von Homeyer, former Director and Head of Corporate Development at property investor Corestate Capital AG, has launched his own real estate investment firm. NAS invests in land plots, project developments, re-positioning and existing buildings, and plans to invest around €100 million over the next two to three years. The regional focus will initially be Berlin and other metropolitan areas in the northern half of Germany. A first property in Berlin with a size of €10 million has already been added to the portfolio.
“Given the good economic and demographic outlook, the real estate markets in Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover and other metropolitan areas in the northern half of Germany will see positive growth, in both the short and long term,” said Mr Dëus-von Homeyer.
Launched with a team of four real estate specialists, the firm concentrates on properties and small portfolios in the €2 to €20 million bracket. “There are many interesting opportunities to be had in this range. At the same time, the competition among buyers is not so intense here, as private investors often lack the required capital base, whereas institutional investors target larger transactions for reasons of economies of scale,” said Mr Dëus-von Homeyer. The acquisition profile covers the residential, retail and office sectors, with the focus currently on residential properties as well as commercial buildings with a mixture of commercial and living space.
