Multi's Espacio Coruña, Spain to open 20 October 2009 (ES)

Multi Development Spain, on 20 October 2009, will open Espacio Coruña, located in the new residential area of Someso, next to the Elviña and Zapateira University and the Fair and Exhibition area where more than 1,800 houses and apartments are being built.

Espacio Coruña has a GLA of over 41,000 m² with three floors of shopping and leisure that will create 700 jobs. It consists of a Mercadona supermarket, a large range of shops dedicated to fashion, household goods, accessories and services plus a large leisure and food court area with free parking for more than 2,000 cars.

Retail brands currently fitting out their shops include: C&A, Sport Zone, Todo Sport, Décimas, Zippy, Tino Gonzalez, Ban Ban, Joyería José Luis, Leder Surf, H&M, Massimo Dutti, ZARA, Benetton, Punto Roma, Cortefiel, Mango, Amichi, Los Telares, Woman Secret, Polinesia, Oysho, New Yorker, Calzados Semicentro, Celio, Blanco, Springfield, Natura, Patrivan, Stradivarius, Watx, Jack & Jones, Claires, Pull & Bear, Bershka, Calzados Mary Paz, Douglas and others.

Espacio Coruña will also lead with its leisure and food court area that occupies 4,000 m² and includes units from Belros, Café & Te, Paraís de los Niños, McDonalds, Restuarante Asiático, Heladería Ribanna, Jamonería Arrua, Cervecería Celta, Dilemin Turco, Burger King, Muerde la Pasta, Doner Kebab, Lois, Regaliz and Solpark.

In the services sector, Espacio Coruña will host Banco Santander, The Phone House, Orange, Vodafone, Movistar, Alain Afflelou, General Óptica, Kiwoco, Poly, Miró, Colección Hogar, Casa, Game Stop and Game.

€120 Million has been invested in the shopping center. It has a state-of-the-art Yelmo Cines Cineplex over 2,700 m² with eight screens, seating for 1,300 people and the most advanced technology including the ability to show films in 3D.
The outstanding architectural and design features of this remarkable development constitute an allegory to the coast and to the important monuments and landmarks of La Coruña.

The masterplan was designed by T+T Design, Gouda, The Netherlands, together with architects Chapman Taylor from Madrid, Spain.

Multi was able to develop and construct this Shopping Center with financing by a syndicate of banks, consisting of Banco de Sabadell, Calyon sucursal en España, ING Real Estate Finance, Natixis sucursal en España, Caja de Ahorros de Galicia, and Banco Pastor.
