Multi holds ground breaking ceremony at Marmara Forum (TR)

The groundbreaking ceremony of Marmara Forum Shopping Centre, a Multi Turkmall project in Istanbul, Turkey, was held on May 27, 2009. Marmara Forum Shopping Centre will be one of the most important shopping centers in Turkey, having an area of 375,000 m². It will offer a total retail and extra leisure area of approximately 165,000 m² also with additional offices.

Officials included the Minister of culture and tourism, Ertuðrul Günay, Minister of public works and settlement, Mustafa Demir, the Governor of Istanbul, Muammer Güler, along with Chairman of Multi Turkmall, Nico Veldhuis and CEO of Multi Turkmall, Levent Eyüboðlu. Multi Turkmall employees also took part in the ceremony.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertuğrul Günay said, "I know all Multi projects in Turkey and I am also one of the customers of Forum Ankara. In period of world economic crisis; making such a big investment shows us not only Multi's power but also finding a value of a new investment in Turkey. I am very glad to participate in Marmara Forum's groundbreaking ceremony. I would like to thank Multi Turkmall."

Marmara Forum Shopping Centre is located on the European side of İstanbul near the Merter exit on the E5 motorway linking the city center of Istanbul with the airport and the western suburbs. Marmara Forum's design will create the quality of a contemporary urban experience with its inner courts and galleries. By creating public space for social activities, Marmara Forum will offer all of its visitors a shopping and entertainment experience to make it 'the place to be'.

Marmara Forum's unique garden office project also provides up to 30,000 m² of efficient, sustainable office space with green Atriums, in Istanbul's most accessible office location.

The center concept is designed by Tabanlioglu. Marmara Forum is planned for completion in the first quarter of 2011.
