MIPIM Horizons embraces sustainability (FR)

Green is the color of the future. MIPIM Horizons, the first international property market dedicated to the world's fast-growing regions, follows the path of Reed MIDEM's other property markets, MIPIM, MAPIC and MIPIM Asia and is Going Green. With a range of conferences and events on green architecture, construction and housing and many efforts to reduce waste and carbon emissions, MIPIM Horizons has gone green.

Green Conferences
A major event at the inaugural MIPIM Horizons will be the Leadership Summit, on Wednesday, 3 December, from 11.00 am - 1.00 pm. Entitled "Facing sustainable challenges: when politicians and real estate leaders shape the future," this closed-doors event will focus on the challenges to be faced by the world's fast-growing regions for successful real estate development. Top-level political leaders, investors, developers and environmental experts will gather around six round tables to exchange best practices and solutions on sustainable issues for the real estate market.

Furthermore, on Wednesday, 3 December from 4.00 - 4.45 pm, a green keynote speech will feature Khaled Awad, Property Development Director of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, presenting the innovative "Masdar Initiative" of the world's first zero carbon, zero waste city.

Green workshops
Many MIPIM Horizons attendees and exhibitors have also picked up on the 'Green trend.' On many stands, projects will be on show using highly innovative technologies to reduce the carbon emissions and impact of the construction on the environment. Among them: Greek developer L.P. Ellinas will present its three high-end projects in Crevedia, in the north suburbs of Bucharest
