MIPIM 2007: Record Attendence

For the second year in a row, MIPIM will set a new attendance record. Some 25,000 property professionals are expected to attend the event, to be held from March 13 to 16, 2007 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, a 16% increase on 2006.

"MIPIM's international growth continues, once again confirming the show as the international meeting place for the property industry," says Thierry Renault, Deputy Managing Director of Reed MIDEM. "As the annual forum for the leading international investors and users from all over the world, MIPIM will this year play host to 5,500 decision-makers in this sector."

With 74 countries represented so far, MIPIM can once again claim to be a truly global event. Attendance from Central and Eastern Europe is at its peak and the Russian Federation is reaching new heights with an increase of 77% over last year at the same period.

Scandinavian countries are also on the rise, with Sweden and Denmark boosting their attendance by 24% and 40% respectively. The Middle Eastern presence continues to grow especially with Dubai, the participation for the first time of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and the notable entry of Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The number of Middle Eastern exhibitors has risen 31% compared to 2006.

Another key feature of this 18th MIPIM is the emergence of new regions such as Latin America, with exhibitors from Brazil and Mexico. There is also growth from Asia with a substantial increase in Indian and Singaporean companies, which will exhibit projects in a dedicated pavilion.

This notable increase in attendance also means a larger exhibition area, which now spreads over 23,993 sq.m., and this year, the opening of a new area in the centre of the Palais.
