Metropolis House in Hamburg sold to Deka Immobilien Investment (DE)

The consortium made up of HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklung, NORDDEUTSCHE GRUNDVERMÖGEN and the FRANK Group has sold the 25,800-m² gross floor space office and commercial Metropolis building in Hamburg off-plan to Deka Immobilien Investment. No details of the purchase price have been released.

The 12-story Metropolis House is scheduled for completion by autumn 2011.



The 12-story Metropolis House is scheduled for completion by autumn 2011 on Dammtorstrasse, the future Opernboulevard, beside the Hamburgische Staatsoper (Hamburg State Opera House). Eight of the nine above-ground levels are designated for office use. Vattenfall Energy Trading has taken out a long-term lease on the first three floors which have a total area of 6,000 m², corresponding to 45% of the available office space.

The five meter-high ground floor will be used for retail and catering with outdoor service. The levels below ground will contain warehouse and archive space, as well as almost 60 car parking slots. Furthermore, the Metropolis movie theater is leasing around 830 m² to install its historic auditorium which will be fitted out to the latest technical standard.

The sales transaction was mediated by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
