Mesirow Financial announced yesterday (January 3,2011) that the Institutional Real Estate Multi-Manager group hired William R. 'Todd' Fowler as a Senior Vice President, and promoted Jeffrey Sobczynski from Vice President to Senior Vice President.
Both enhancements are testimony to the growth of the Multi-Manager group, which also recently added Senior Managing Director Michael Clarke to head its European activities.

Fowler brings more than 18 years of public and private real estate operating company experience in corporate finance, strategic planning and property]level asset management. In his new role with the Multi-Manager group, he will serve as a dedicated investor relations manager. Prior to joining Mesirow Financial,
Fowler served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions for Verde Realty, a US $1.2 billion diversified private REIT. Prior to that, he also served as vice president of Security Capital Group, a publicly-traded Real Estate Operating Company with interests in 18 public and private entities with a total market capitalization of US $26.3 billion. Fowler spent five years as Head of Investor relations at Security Capital Group, managing all communications, marketing and reporting. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kansas.
Sobczynski has over 21 years of real estate experience in consulting, financial reporting and asset management. During his tenure with the Multi-Manager team, he has been a tenacious due diligence manager and key contributor to the portfolio management team. He is a Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) and received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting from Michigan State University. He also earned a Master's degree in education from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
