Master Management Group purchases plot of land in Ełk to build Brama Mazur shopping center (PL)

On 28 March 2012, Master Management Group, a leading retail space manager and developer in Poland, purchased a plot of land in Elk in order to build the Brama Mazur shopping center. The plot, covering an area of 1.85 hectares, is located in the town center, at the junction of Dabrowskiego and Kosciuszki streets. It was bought from the Elk City Hall in a tender procedure.

The plans include a two-story shopping and entertainment center with the total GLA of 16,250 m².

In the next few months Master Management Group intends to file an application for a building permit to construct a two-story shopping and entertainment center with the total GLA of 16,250 m² and a 600-space underground car park.

"I am very happy that we managed to secure such an attractive plot in the very center of Elk. We had been watching it closely due to Elk's potential – there is currently a shortage of modern retail and entertainment space in the town. We have already spoken to potential tenants who are very keen on entering this new market," said Paul Kusmierz, Principal of Master Management Group.

"We are pleased that the land was purchased by a company possessing a considerable track record in the retail property sector. We count on the investment bringing our town a complex that will be popular with our residents, as well as tourists visiting the Mazuria region.

"Additionally, Elk will gain newly created jobs, an attractively designed town square and a public underground car park. On top of that, the historic army storage building will be revitalized and this way brought back to the town center," said Tomasz Andrukiewicz, the Mayor of Elk.

Brama Mazur will be a family oriented shopping and entertainment center with a shopping mall, a supermarket and cinema, as well as numerous cafes and restaurants. The project entails the revitalization of a pre-war army storage unit, which is currently unoccupied.

Upon completion of renovation and construction, the historic building will form a part of the complex. A municipal park will also be created as part of the project, thanks to which Brama Mazur will become an attractive meeting point for the residents of Elk and the region.
