Organised in association with the Beaugrenelle project from Gecina & Apsys, the 9th edition of the MAPIC Awards ceremony rewarded six retailers for their dynamic development strategy in 2004.
For the 9th consecutive year, the MAPIC Awards celebrated the most dynamic retailers in the industry. The international jury was presided over for the first time by Robert de Barr, Director of Land Securities Properties Ltd (UK), and was composed of seven retail real estate professionals.
And the winners are:
- Clothing/ Fashion & Accessories: Massimo Duti
- Catering Oulets: Boulangerie Paul
- Household Goods & Electrical: Media Saturn
- Services: The Phone House
- Leisure: Lego Company
- Health & Beauty: Yves Rocher
For every one of the six categories, each member of the jury nominated a retail company based in their home country. The companies they chose must have pursued a distinctive and dynamic development strategy for the year 2004.
The jury members based their decisions on a number of different criteria, including the originality of the retail concept, the number of outlets opened per country in 2004, the type of development, the diversity of retail locations, the flexibility of the retail company in satisfying the specifics of the market, the level of aggression in the expansion campaign, the capacity for innovation, the quality of welcome and customer care.
