Leimdörfer expands Finnish organization (FI)

Leimdörfer Finland has appointed Mikko Iivonen (aged 38) as the company's new CEO.

Jonas Ahlblad, the founder and a partner of Leimdörfer Finland, will leave the company by the end of September 2010 for a position at the real estate private equity investor Sveafastigheter. Until then, Jonas will continue to work for Leimdörfer to assist the team during the transition period.

Mikko Iivonen has a long experience from the Finnish real estate market, most recently as Portfolio Director at Dutch investor REDEVCO and before that from property transactions at Aberdeen and Catella. Mikko Iivonen starts his new position today and he will also become a partner in Leimdörfer Finland.

In addition to Mikko Iivonen, Leimdörfer has strengthened its team by recruiting Tommi Sievers and Pauliina Dravantti as analysts.

"Jonas has done a fantastic job at building Leimdörfer's business. Less than a year after he started in 2006, Leimdörfer was one of the leading advisors in Finland and from then he has done an outstanding job developing the business further. We thank Jonas for his time with us and wish him good luck in his new role. Looking forward, we are very glad the we have been able to recruit Mikko and we trust that he will grow the business further," comments Sven Dahlin, CEO and partner at Leimdörfer.

"After eight years working with property transaction advisory, of which the last four at Leimdörfer, I feel eager to take up new challenges on the investor side. After founding Leimdörfer's office in Helsinki in 2006, it of course feels a bit sad to leave the company and all my great colleagues. On the other hand, it feels good to know that that I'll be leaving the business in Mikko's and the rest of the team's good hands," says Jonas Ahlblad.

"My ambition for Leimdörfer is to continue to provide the same high quality services to our clients in the future. I believe that the new strengthened team combined with my experience both as an investor and as an advisor will give us a strong base to develop the business further," comments Mikko Iivonen.
