LaSalle announces completion of €60 million office development in Munich (DE)

LaSalle Investment Management ('LaSalle') announces the completion of Metris, a major office development in Munich, Germany. Metris, which was completed on 29 March 2010, was on time and on budget when handed over to the LaSalle Income & Growth Fund. The 31,000 m² of floor space was constructed by Bilfinger Berger over 18 months at a total cost of around €60 million.

Metris has obtained LEED gold status certification. It was designed by the architecture firm SAM Architekten and Synergy Bauprojekt GmbH was in charge of site management, with BIP Munich responsible for overseeing the project.

The Metris building is complete except for final alterations to the office space. Initial fit-out works are currently in progress according to tenant specifications.

David A. Ironside, International Director and Head of Acquisitions Northern Europe with LaSalle Investment Management said, "The Metris building is a great example of how it is possible to construct major office buildings in an environmentally friendly manner while remaining financially viable. This balance of ecological and economic considerations in Metris is 100% in line with LaSalle's corporate strategy."
