Largest letting for five years at Stockley Park (UK)

Sharp Electronics is to relocate its UK headquarters from Manchester to the Thames Valley. They have taken a sub lease from Motorola on 38,354 ft² at Stockley Park. The letting of 4 Furzeground Way is the biggest at Stockley Park in five years and a major boost to the Thames Valley market as a whole.

The deal follows Motorola's decision earlier this year to acquire a new regional headquarters at Chineham Park, Basingstoke from MEPC. This comprised 112,500 ft² with an option over a further 60,000 ft², the largest letting in the Thames Valley for four years.

Charles Dady, Partner of Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker, who advised Motorola, said: "Sharp's decision is a major endorsement of the Thames Valley office market and Stockley Park's position within it. This is further evidence of the strengthening recovery in the region's TMT sector."

Stockley Park is seeing a flurry of activity with space also under offer to Gilead, Rackspace and Activision with BP expected to reoccupy some 70,000 ft² after a ten year absence from the business park.
