Land Securities secures planning consent for Eastbourne Terrace in London (UK)

Land Securities has secured planning consent for the comprehensive refurbishment of three office buildings totalling 21,368 m² at Eastbourne Terrace, London, W2.

The three buildings, which comprise two six-story office blocks at 10 and 30 Eastbourne Terrace and one 18-story office tower at 20 Eastbourne Terrace, are all to be incorporated into Land Securities' Landflex portfolio.

Land Securities anticipates starting the refurbishment programme on 10 Eastbourne Terrace first, with work proceeding on 20 and 30 Eastbourne Terrace thereafter.

10 Eastbourne Terrace comprises 6,132 m² and will be fully refurbished to provide flexible, high quality, modern office accommodation across six floors. The building is currently vacant, following the relocation of CB&I, the leading international engineering contractor, last Summer (2006). CB&I moved into the recently refurbished 40 Eastbourne Terrace which is also serviced by the Landflex product.

Mike Hussey, Managing Director, Land Securities London Portfolio, said: "Since the launch of Landflex just four years ago, the market has responded well to the concept. These three central London office buildings provide a major opportunity to expand our offer to new and existing occupiers in a key location. Once redeveloped, the buildings will enlarge the Landflex portfolio to eight buildings, totalling almost one million square foot of office accommodation across central London."
