Kingfisher PLC said it is going to open its first Castorama outlet in Russia in 2006.
Castorama is the home improvement retailer´s French chain. Kingfisher also operates under the Brico Depot brand in France.
'The Russian market represents an enormous opportunity for Kingfisher,' said Ian Cheshire, who is in charge of international development.
He added that the company hopes to open a further three to five outlets in the following two years.
Cheshire estimates the value of the Russian DIY market at US$ 6 billion.
