Kennedy Wilson submits planning application for mixed use development, Capital Dock (IE)

Global property company Kennedy Wilson and its equity partner, in a joint venture with the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) today submitted planning for its visionary development on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin 2.
‘Capital Dock’ is one of the largest undeveloped sites in Dublin CBD and will deliver over 600,000 ft² (55, 741 m²) of new space at this prime waterfront location.
It will include 313,000 ft ² (29,078 m²)of office space across three buildings and 204 high-quality residential units across two buildings, one of which will incorporate a 19 storey tower.
The proposed development, which is bounded by water on two sides, places a significant emphasis on public space with a new 1.5-acre landscaped public park and square, designated cultural space and a significant retail/leisure offering.
Site assembly was finalized at the end of 2014 following the completion of a joint venture arrangement between Kennedy Wilson and NAMA. This entailed Kennedy Wilson and NAMA merging their adjacent sites at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay. Kennedy Wilson is the majority partner and acts as Development Manager to the project. Kennedy Wilson expects to obtain planning later this year and to commence on site in early 2016, with the first office building available in 2017.
