JLL: John Duckworth to head Central & Eastern European business (CEE)

Jones Lang LaSalle today announced the appointment of John Duckworth, currently MD of its EMEA Corporate Solutions business, as the new managing director of its Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) operations covering offices in four countries. He will be based in Warsaw, transferring from London. Jones Lang LaSalle is a market leader in CEE, employing 150 people, with offices in Warsaw, Prague, Budapest and Bucharest.

Jones Lang LaSalle's EMEA CEO, Alastair Hughes, commented: "It is great to have someone of the calibre of John Duckworth moving over to Warsaw to drive the further growth of our market-leading business in Central and Eastern Europe. John's strong track record in working with occupiers and investors, along with his proven business management skills, will provide an ideal fit. His excellent links with corporate clients will also allow us to build on the opportunity we see to continue to enhance and deepen our Corporate Solutions business in this part of Europe, following the ongoing strong levels of inward investment into countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania by multinational corporations of all types."

The news is twinned with announcing the departures of current Central Europe MD Ben Bannatyne and Jones Lang LaSalle's EMEA chief operating officer Philip Dunne to one of the company's major international clients. Bannatyne, after five years at the CEE helm, is to become MD for ProLogis in Central Europe, while Dunne becomes COO for ProLogis across its Europe and Middle East region after several years in similar roles at Jones Lang LaSalle. All these moves take effect in September.

Speaking about the changes at Jones Lang LaSalle, Hughes added: "Ben and Philip have both made significant and sustained contributions to our business and we will miss their expertise and abilities, but it is pleasing to see a client of the stature of ProLogis recognizing the depth and breadth of leadership talent existing within our company. It can only be good for the relationship between our two firms and we look forward to working again with Ben and Philip as clients."

Hughes also announced that Steve Cresswell, currently regional chief financial officer for Jones Lang LaSalle EMEA, will combine that role going forward with the regional COO position. Meanwhile, Tom Bayne-Jardine will move across from the company's English business to become MD of Corporate Solutions in EMEA, working alongside Corporate Solutions CEO, Robert Bonwell. These changes will also take effect in September.
