JLL advises on the entry of another new brand to the Polish retail market (PL)

Jones Lang LaSalle's Retail Tenant Representation team has advised Toys'R'Us on securing its first location in Poland. The new store of the American kids' accessories chain, which is more than 1,700 m², opened on November 26 in the Blue City Shopping Center in Warsaw.

The company has already announced further expansion plans into 2012 in other major cities in Poland. Currently, the retailer operates 1,600 stores in 36 countries (including Poland).

Dagmara Filipiak, Senior Consultant in Tenant Representation in Retail Agency at Jones Lang La Salle, commented: "Poland proves to be an attractive market to many international chains willing to expand across the country. The combination of the amount of high quality stock available and the purchasing power of the local population indicates further development potential for new brands, especially in major regional markets.

"Fashion and shoes brands are dominant among those who have started their operations in 2011. However, the kids' sector is also in a focus of attention. The opening of the first Toys'R'Us store fits into that market trend. The new brands that enter the market offer the Polish consumers a wider range of goods and prices".

In addition to Toys'R'Us, Jones Lang LaSalle's Retail Tenant Representation team is currently advising and representing two new brands, LC Waikiki and Claire's, on market entry and expansion in Poland.
