Jaap Gillis new CEO of Bouwfonds REIM (NL)

Jaap Gillis MBA FRICS will take up the position of CEO of Bouwfonds REIM and also membership of the Board of Directors of Rabo Real Estate Group on August 1, 2012. Gillis will succeed Jean Klijnen.

As CEO of Bouwfonds REIM, Jaap Gillis will provide a new dynamic for the further profiling and professionalization of the business. Gillis has a lot of experience in the real estate sector and this combination of real estate-related knowledge and management qualities makes him the right man to lead Bouwfonds REIM through the coming years.

According to Gillis, "We aim to benefit from the growth in certain property market segments in Germany and France through new funds for institutional investors and make use of the synergy gains within Rabo Real Estate Group, since ultimately the group is a powerhouse in terms of real estate-related knowledge."

Until April 1, 2012, Jaap Gillis was COO of Redevco. He previously held different management positions at AM (Amstelland/MDC), ING Real Estate and other companies.

Gillis holds various ancillary positions, including in a number of interest groups. He is chairman of the Dutch Green Building Council and, until recently, was a committee member of the Association of Institutional Property Investors in the Netherlands (IVBN).

He is also a past trustee and member of the European Advisory Council of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Deputy Chairman of the Urban Land Institute in the Netherlands, Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and a registered marketeer of the Dutch Marketing Institute (NIMA).

Gillis' appointment is subject to assessment by the external supervisors.
