Invesco Real Estate broadens European platform into Luxembourg (LU)

Invesco Real Estate (IRE), the global cross-border property investment manager, is pleased to announce seven new appointments across its European business covering fund management, asset management, transactions, research and fund accounting, including a director to oversee its fund operations in its newly opened Luxembourg office.

Willem Labuschagne has joined IRE as Director of Luxembourg operations. Willem will manage the administrative requirements for setting up new funds and the day-to-day operation of IRE's existing Luxembourg-domiciled fund range alongside third party providers. Willem previously worked within Invesco's Legal Department and was seconded to IRE to provide legal advice and input into the setting up of IRE's new direct real estate funds and support for existing fund mandates. Karl Hayer, who replaces Willem within Invesco's Legal Department, will provide IRE with internal legal support on all real estate business. Karl joins from Doughty Hanson & Co and has 14 years' experience advising on pan-European real estate funds, fund structuring, transactions and fund maintenance.

William Ertz has joined as a Senior Fund Manager in Munich and has over 12 years' pan-European fund management, transactions and asset management experience. William joins from Catella Real Estate where he was responsible for portfolio management and product development. Prior to this he worked at AXA Investment Managers as a senior portfolio manager, responsible for a team of fund managers and the performance of the €1.5 bln. real estate portfolio owned by the German AXA Insurance Companies.

Chris Brassington has joined as an Associate in IRE's fund management department providing support to the London based fund management team on its UK and pan-European funds. Chris previously worked for IRE between 2002 and 2006 within the UK transactions team and left to join Doughty Hanson & Co, a UK Private Equity business, helping to invest their opportunistic pan-European real estate fund.

Fritz Balletshofer has joined as a Fund Controller in Munich within IRE's fund accounting team to oversee the firm's fund financial reporting processes and to ensure uniform accounting standards for all funds. In addition, he will play an instrumental role in the implementation of Yardi. Fritz has over 20 years' financial services experience and joins IRE from Pramerica where he performed a similar function.

Matthias Naumann has joined as a European Research Analyst within the global research team, based in Munich. He develops and provides pan-European market and forecast coverage for the German, Central and Eastern Europe and the Netherlands markets. He joins from IPD where he was a senior analyst for their Central and Eastern Europe portfolio analysis service and a team leader for the Swiss service.

Sandra Richter has joined IRE as an Account Manager within the Munich office's Fund Accounting team to provide fund administration and investor reporting for IRE's pan-European funds and client mandates. Prior to joining IRE, Sandra worked as a property manager for Derag and BNP Paribas Real Estate GmbH.

Oliver Scholl has joined as an Asset Manager within the hotel and leisure fund management team, based in Munich. He is responsible for the asset management and fund administration of IRE's hotel fund. He has five years' real estate and 10 years' hospitality sector experience. Prior to joining IRE, Oliver was a senior consultant within Ernst & Young Real Estate's hospitality advisory team where he was responsible for market, competitor and feasibility analyses, transaction advisory services, valuations and restructuring services.

Mark Leiter has joined IRE as a Transactions Analyst based in the Munich office, covering the German and Netherlands markets. Prior to joining the real estate team, Mark completed a six-month trainee programme in Invesco's New York office, rotating across various departments.
