Invesco RE expands Hotel Fund Management with new appointment and €109 mln. refinancing (UK)

Invesco Real Estate (IRE), the global cross-border property investment manager, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Neubüser as an Associate within its pan-European hotel fund management team. This brings to six the number of dedicated hotel real estate staff at the firm, with Lisa providing support on all hotel transactions, as well as on fund and asset management initiatives. In common with the existing team, Lisa comes with experience from both the real estate and hotel operator side.

Lisa's appointment comes at a time when IRE's hotel fund management and debt finance teams have signed a €109 million refinancing deal with Aareal bank for four hotels, three of which had originally been purchased with 100% equity, for its first hotel fund . With this fund now almost fully invested with over €655m of assets under management following the latest acquisition at the end of September of Vienna's Mercure hotel Biedermeier, the hotel fund's 16th hotel, IRE is planning the launch of a second hotel fund in early 2011.

Lisa joins from CB Richard Ellis Hotels where she has been working in the hotel valuations and consultancy services department for almost three years and has been involved in strategic reviews of individual hotels and hotel portfolios across the UK and Europe including capital investment assessments, disposal strategies and hotel asset management.

Prior to this, Lisa completed a six-month internship in the first half of 2006 with HVS International's hotel consulting and valuation department in New York before spending two months at Marriott International on a financial analyst training programme in Switzerland in 2007. Lisa also has first hand experience having worked in several hotels across Germany and Switzerland covering various aspects of hotel management.

Lisa has a Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management from Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne, is a member of the British Association of Hospitality Accounts (BAHA) and is fluent in four languages. Lisa will be based in the London office.

Andy Rofe, Managing Director, Invesco Real Estate comments: "I am delighted to welcome Lisa as she will add further skills to what is already a knowledgeable and experienced dedicated hotel team. Lisa's appointment comes at the right time as we continue to service our existing clients' needs diligently through our first hotel fund and also service new clients that continue to join us through our success in tendering for new business opportunities."
