"Research into the non-listed property funds industry is one of the key foundation stones of INREV. The role of Research Director will become even more important as we aim to expand the provision of market information and research to our members. We want to further develop our research activity into more fundamental research of the non-listed real estate funds market and to strengthen the INREV Index to become the first pan-European performance benchmark for these funds for investors and managers alike," INREV Chief Executive Lisette van Doorn said.

"I'm very happy that we have someone of Andrea's calibre and experience to head the research team," she added.

Carpenter joins INREV from ULI where she has been Managing Director for the Centre for Regeneration and Sustainability, overseeing the institute's research activities in Europe, since 2005. The role included directing research on land use issues and organising projects with members, including forums and workshops. Prior to ULI, she was editor of EuroProperty - the first pan-European publication covering the professional real estate investment market.

"I'm delighted to be joining the INREV team to help drive forward its research and market information initiatives. INREV's wide range of research, including its vehicles database and its performance index, is core to achieving the organization's objectives of industry transparency and best practice," Carpenter said.
