ING Real Estate, ABN Amro and NS Real Estate to invest in design museum Zuidas

ING Real Estate, ABN Amro and NS Real Estate have decided with the Municipality of Amsterdam to invest in a new museum on the Zuidas, the Dutch Design Museum. The museum will be built on the edge of the Beatrixpark and will need in investment of € 25 mln. Half of this amount will be invested by the private parties, the other half by the Municipality.

The Dutch Design Museum will be built on parcel of 6,000 m². It won’t have its own collection but will draw from the collections of other museums. No agreements have been made on this subject however. The museum will have a focus on Dutch design in every area which relates to industrial and graphic design, interior and fashion. The new museum should be delivered in 2007. The private parties involved are the same parties who have garanteed the landrevenues of € 909 mln. on the Zuidas if the dokmodel is realised.
