ING buys Leicester shopping centre for

ING Real Estate Investment Management has paid Haymarket Property Investments £77.5m for the Haymarket Shopping Centre in Leicester. The 337,000 sq ft centre provides 48 stores, a 485-space multi-storey car park, a theatre and a bus station, and is located on the pedestrianised Humberstone Gate.

The centre provides an annual rental income of around £4.26m a year, equating to an initial yield of 5.5%. Tenants include H&M Hennes, Boots and Woolworths.

Nicholas Gill, Head of Acquisitions at ING REIM, commented: “With £600m to invest this year, ING REIM are pursuing an aggressive acquisitions programme on behalf of our clients and funds.”
