HotelForum: Finalists of “Hotel Property Award 2014“ have been announced
The Finalists of the “Hotel Property Award 2014”, which will be presented during the hotelforum on Wednesday, 8 October, have been chosen. Among the 25 hotel applications the following three finalists (in alphabetical order) have been selected by the 15 jurors.
Holzhotel Forsthofalm Leogang (Salzburger Land, Austria)
Room Mate AITANA Hotel Amsterdam Amsterdam (The Netherlands)
Ruby Sofie Hotel Wien (Vienna, Austria)
Andreas Martin, chairman to the jury: “Several different aspects are important for the decision making process, such as the interaction of the building’s architecture and interior design and the innovative capacity concerning the subject of sustainability. Another aspect of the process is analyzing the ratio of investment costs and pricing structure at the local hotel site, which have to contribute to a successful and economical hotel concept. In 2014, these criteria were best met by three hotel developments located in Leogang, Amsterdam and Vienna.“
Among the finalists you will find one leisure hotel and two city hotels. The Holzhotel Forsthofalm is an EU Eco Label certified hotel. The structure of the hotel was entirely built with timber. The Room Mate AITANA Hotel is part of a mixed-used development situated on an artificial island with a spectacular glass construction. Additionally, the building of the Sofiensäle, initially inaugurated as a Russian steam bath in 1838, was a popular music hall in the 20th century and is now a hotel. The name Ruby Sofie Hotel Wien still reflects the long and splendid history of this place.
All applicants of the competition, reflecting the entire world of hospitality from youth hostels to five-star properties, will be announced during hotelfourm.
At the gala evening you will witness the presentation of the winners of the renowned “Hotel Property Award”. On the same evening we will announce the recipients of the “Blue Hotel Awards” as well as the “Hospitality Innovation Award”.
