HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklung has sold the transparent office building, Berlins Grosse Freiheit, which has a rental area of around 9,500 m², prior to completion of the shell. Deka Immobilien acquired the building at Stralauer Allee 4 which is fully let. The office new-build should be ready for tenants in early 2013.
Berlins Grosse Freiheit will meet LEED Gold standard.
The office building forms part of the 'Mediaspree' development area in Berlin a lot of around 4,460 m² on the Spree embankment. The property will have parking space for roughly 140 cars and about 70 bicycles.
The seven-story building will be given a striking ceramic facade, with the wraparound glass surfaces giving it a light, transparent look. Berlins Grosse Freiheit will meet LEED Gold standard.
To ensure sustainable construction and operation, various measures are being taken including the use of environmentally-friendly, regionally sourced construction materials, and needs-based indoor lighting with energy-saving lamps.
