The five-story building is being built on a plot of land measuring about 6,000 m² in Luxemburger Strasse in the Gruga Carree in Essen–Rüttenscheid. In addition to office space, on the ground floor a conference room, a reception and lounge area as well as the company restaurant are envisaged. A basement car park with 326 parking spaces, 34 surface parking spaces and a bicycle port for approximately 50 bicycles are planned. The property is being developed taking into consideration ecological aspects, in accordance with the silver standard of the German Sustainable Building Council. For instance, the rooms are cooled and heated using energy-saving technology: depending on requirements, cold or warm water is conducted in plastic pipes through so-called 'energy ground'.

Robert Bambach, Manager of HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklung, emphasized: "Implementing sustainability concepts for new office buildings has now become a standard feature of our business."

Winfried Holz, CEO of Atos Origin Deutschland & CEMA, explained his company's choice of location: "In keeping with our Green IT Strategy the new building will be consistently built to incorporate sustainability: at the new location we are creating a modern working concept which suits our company's requirements."

He noted that his company had opted for Essen "because we feel welcome here and we hope to achieve good visibility at this location".

Reinhard Pass, Mayor of the City of Essen, added: "Atos Origin's decision underlines the importance of the City of Essen as a location for communication technology. Attracting future–oriented industries to locate here is a sound basis for the economic success of Essen."
