Hochtief and DC Residential present Marco Polo Tower in HafenCity, Hamburg (DE)

The Marco Polo Tower project company, a consortium comprising Hochtief Projektentwicklung and DC Residential, has presented the Marco Polo Tower residential building in Hamburg's HafenCity district. The 17-story building, with 12,500 m² of gross floor space, is the first residential property being erected on Strandkai. Handover of the first apartment is scheduled for September 2009.

Altogether, on 15 of the floors, there are 58 one- and two-level residential units, with areas of between 57 and 340 m². The ground and first floors are destined for public utilization. The apartments can be combined to form larger residential units. In line with the Design Ready concept, applied here for the first time in Germany, the units will be handed over as semi-finished shell structures. In other words, the purchaser acquires a property which has been completed in the general areas and the terraces but can then decide on the interior fit-out in line with his or her own wishes and select an architect to complete the work. Help is provided in the form of suggestions made by seven internationally renowned interior designers and architects.

"Hamburg's ongoing growth, its international orientation and the prime locations it offers, such as HafenCity, make it an ideal setting for luxury residential complexes," comments Matthias Tscheu, Head of Branch North of Hochtief Projektentwicklung.
