Hilton Paris Opera opens its doors following €43 mln renovation (FR)

Hilton Hotels & Resorts announced that Hilton Paris Opera has officially opened, unveiling a chic and contemporary new look, following the extensive renovation of one of Paris's most historic and glamorous grand hotels.
Located in the heart of the Right Bank's Opera district, a short distance from the Champs-Elysées and French boutique shopping experiences at Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussmann, the hotel was originally the vision of architect Juste Lisch.
Having first opened in 1889 to welcome visitors of the Exposition Universelle, the hotel has undergone a $50 mln (€43 mln) refurbishment that returns it to its former glory in exquisite style.
This historical centrepiece of the hotel is the majestic Le Grand Salon which, along with 268 guest rooms and suites, several bars and restaurants, plus meeting and event space have all been transformed under the close supervision of acclaimed design firm Richmond International.
Simon Vincent, EVP and president, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Hilton Worldwide, said, "France has the largest inbound tourism market in Europe, estimated to reach 100 mln by 2018, with Paris itself remaining one of the world's great destinations. Hilton has a long history in the city and we are delighted to be bringing one of its most illustrious hotels back to life, following a stylish renovation that will ensure Hilton Paris Opera becomes a home for Parisians and international guests alike."
Each part of Hilton Paris Opera has been carefully created in a sophisticated style, paying homage to the hotel's storied history while providing an updated aesthetic for today's traveller. Highlights of the property include the elegantly appointed 900 ft² (83 m²) Maria Callas Suite, the hotel's master suite. Besides a spacious living room with the high ceilings typical of a Parisian Haussmann building, the suite features a master bedroom with one king bed and a second bedroom with twin beds, both with private bathrooms designed with a large polished stone vanity and spacious walk-in shower.
Rob Palleschi, global head, full service brands, Hilton Worldwide, said, "After much anticipation we are ready to welcome guests to one of Paris's landmark hotels, beautifully renovated to reclaim its place in this remarkable city. Hilton has hosted many of the world's great events and occasions for nearly 100 years and we look forward to creating many more special memories for our guests at Hilton Paris Opera."
Hilton Paris Opera is located within close proximity to Saint-Lazare railway station; approximately 17 miles from Charles de Gaulle Airport; 14 miles from Paris Orly Airport; and five miles from the La Défense business district.
