Planning permission has been granted for one of the North West's most prominent development sites at S:Park Stockport a joint development between Helical Bar and Chancerygate. Work has already started on this high profile 15 acre brownfield site adjacent to junction 27 of the M60 and fronting Portwood roundabout, Stockport.
Sales are also off to a flying start, with S:Park having already secured two substantial transactions:
· Infiniti Nissan, has acquired a two acre plot at the entrance of the estate for only its' second car showroom in the UK, and
· Big Yellow, the UK's leading self storage brand, has purchased a one acre site for a new 22,500 ft² facility, which will undoubtedly become a new landmark with its direct frontage to the motorway.
S:Park Stockport is located at an important gateway to Stockport and offers opportunities for purpose built facilities. In addition to the two deals above, the scheme has planning approval for a 73,000 ft² trade use, as well as light industrial / distribution and offices, with design and build opportunities available from 10,000 ft² 150,000 ft². Plots of land up to 6.85 acres are also available for sale.
Duncan Walker, Senior Development Executive at Helical Bar plc, commented " Helical Bar is delighted to finally be starting on site at a time when very few other developments are commencing. The investment into the infrastructure works demonstrate our commitment to the development of a thriving business park which we believe will contribute jobs and investment into Stockport"
Don Bailey, MD of Chancerygate, commented: "The long awaited regeneration of this site will be welcomed by Stockport and is an important contribution to the recovery of this area. Both we and Helical Bar are confident that the great location of S:Park Stockport and in particular the ease of access to the motorway network will make this development the first choice for businesses seeking a well located, highly visible and accessible location to do business in the North West."
Davies Harrison and King Sturge have been appointed as joint agents on the scheme and Rick Davies of Davies Harrison comments: "S:Park Stockport is one of the North West's most sought after business locations due to its high profile position and accessibility to the motorway network. There is a shortage of good quality accommodation in the South Manchester area where demand remains strong and S:Park Stockport is well placed to take advantage of this."
