Helaba provides €280 million in acquisition finance for Sanofi’s Paris Headquarters (FR)

Helaba Paris is providing a €280 million debt package to Korea’s IGIS Asset Management, who is acting on behalf of institutional Korean investors for the acquisition of a well-appointed property in central Paris. The investor acquired the Sanofi head office from German KanAm in early October.
The financing comprises a €183 million senior loan and a €97million mezzanine facility both provided by Helaba, acting as arranger, lender and agent. The mezzanine facility is entirely syndicated to a Korean debt fund.
The Sanofi head office is located in the middle of Paris’ central business district at 54 rue La Boëtie. Fully renovated in 2011, the premium Haussmanian style property comprises two buildings of approx. 20,000 m² of high-quality office space. The global healthcare leader Sanofi has a long-term lease on the building complex.
