Heijmans secures Priority Package F for widening of A2 and A12 motorways (NL)

After earlier awarding Heijmans the contract for Priority Packages E and C, the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management has also awarded Heijmans Priority Package F, consisting the widening of pieces of the A2 and A12 motorway.

This is the contract for the design of three road-widening projects in the middle of the Netherlands. The total tendering amount for the engineering and realization phases is more than €81 million.

The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management has used its innovative tendering approach with the primary aim of obtaining a high-quality proposal. Heijmans emerged as the best tendering party on the basis of the scores for price and quality.

The tendering amount and the qualitative part were based on an integrated approach developed by Heijmans.

Priority Package F consists of three sub-projects: the widening of the A12 motorway between Gouda and Woerden, the same motorway between Woerden and Oudenrijn and the widening of the A2 motorway between the Oudenrijn intersection and Everdingen. The associated technical systems will also be modified in all three projects.
