Heijmans secured €80-90m contract with Vitens (NL)

Water company Vitens has signed a four-year framework agreement with the Heijmans-GMB consortium for the renovation or new construction of drinking water production plants. Vitens will be investing heavily in its infrastructure in the coming years to arrive at a robust and future-proof drinking water supply. As a creator of a healthy living environment, Heijmans is contributing its knowledge and skills to help solve the increasing demand for water in the Netherlands. Heijmans’ share of the total contract value for the eight-year term is c. €80-90m.

Heijmans-GMB will focus on sustainability in the drinking water production sites they design, build, and renovate for Vitens. The framework agreement covers diverse multidisciplinary projects that Heijmans-GMB will execute with fixed partners in teams. The agreement has an initial four-year term with potential extensions and the final contract value may increase depending on project value. Allocation of projects will be based on the 'best of fit for project' principles included in the contract.
