Heijmans net earnings rose by 46% in 2001

Prospects for 2002 are good, long-term objectives increased

In 2001, Heijmans N.V. (construction and construction-related activities) realised turnover of nearly € 2.3 billion, an increase of more than 46% compared to the turnover of € 1.6 billion in 2000. Net earnings rose by 46% to € 70.2 million (2000: € 48.1 million).

Earnings per share rose by 33% from € 2.47 to € 3.28. Heijmans increased the long-term objective to 2006, assuming profitability of 5% net in 2006 and turnover of € 5 billion, € 1 billion of which outside the Netherlands.

Heijmans expects to realise turnover of approximately € 2.5 billion in 2002, with net earnings of approximately € 84 million (an increase of 20% compared to 2001). Earnings per share will amount to approximately € 3.70 after the depreciation of goodwill, an increase of 13% compared to the earnings per share in 2001. Expectations for 2002 do not include possible acquisitions.
