Heijmans awarded a major segment of Schiphol's Asset Management tender (NL)

On Wednesday December 15 , 2010, the proposed award to Heijmans of three of the eight parcels of the European tender for Schiphol's Asset Management was announced. The contract has a duration of five years and an expected value of at least € 150 million. The award is provisional and is expected to become definitive soon.

The work concerns three parcels: 'airside infrastructure': the integral maintenance and construction of the entire air traffic runway and taxiway infrastructure. 'Accessibility' to Schiphol: the complete road and building infrastructure for the arrival and departure of passengers and cargo transport on the Schiphol area. 'Transmission of electricity' covers the airport's entire power transmission and distribution network. Maintenance accounts for approximately one third of the total annual revenues, while new construction accounts for approximately two thirds. The work will almost completely be realized within the sector infrastructure.

The Asset Management Tender is designed to fulfill Schiphol's goal of optimizing resources. Schiphol has found a constructively thinking long-term partner in Heijmans who will deliver added value and assume a growing role. The work is consistent with Heijmans' strategy of providing customers with an integral approach that combines the knowledge and skills of various disciplines.
