HBG begins work on Bristol speculative office scheme

Construction work has begun on HBG Properties’ 71,500 sq ft Tower Wharf scheme in Bristol city centre, the largest speculative office scheme in the city for three years.

The six-storey building will be located on Tower Lane, next to the Shot Tower and overlooking the harbour, within walking distance of both Broadmead and Temple Meads railway station.

Letting agents, Hartnell Taylor Cook and DTZ, confirmed that Tower Wharf is to be offered on a leasehold or freehold basis, and are quoting a preliminary rental figure of £24.50 per sq ft.

Construction work is expected to be completed towards the end of 2005. Alec French Partnership is the architect on the scheme.

Martin Hill of HBG Properties commented: “We are actively involved in the Bristol market and we are confident there is a demand in the city for this type of building. We could have waited to secure a pre-let but why wait for an occupier to commit before starting development, when we will be providing a high quality building in a great location suitable for most occupiers needs?”
