Goodman to develop 22,000 m² facility for SAS Autosystemtechnik s.r.o. in Mlada Boleslav (CZ)

Goodman Group will develop a 22,000 m² pre-committed facility for SAS Autosystemtechnik s.r.o. in Mlada Boleslav, north-east of Prague.

The facility will be used for the assembly of car cockpits to be delivered 'just-in sequence' to the nearby Skoda manufacturing plant. The lease agreement is for 7.5 years and delivery is scheduled for the beginning of July 2012.

SAS Autosystemtechnik design and produce high-quality car cockpits. They are the latest automotive customer to choose Goodman for a build-to-suit facility. In 2011, Goodman signed contracts to develop approximately 160,000 m² of space for the automotive industry across continental Europe.

The development comprises a 19,645 m² warehouse and 2,527 m² of office space. Mlada Boleslav is 50 km from Prague and is the hometown of the Skoda car manufacturing plant.

"Goodman has a good track record in the development of logistics facilities for the automotive industry, which we have demonstrated through recent projects in Germany, Slovakia and Poland. We are delighted to have secured a 7.5-year lease with SAS Autosystemtechnik s.r.o. in Mlada Boleslav," said Jakub Pelikan, Country Manager Czech Republic and Slovakia.

"The commencement of the construction of our new warehouse is the result of a long-term and mutually close cooperation between Goodman and SAS Autosystemtechnik s.r.o. The selection of a developer played a crucial role in the process and since the construction of our new headquarters is very important to us we are pleased that we can rely on Goodman as a partner with a great deal of experience," said Roman Kapias, Plant Manager, SAS Autosystemtechnik s.r.o.
